NDC secures injunction to halt re-collation of Nsawam-Adoagyiri parliamentary results
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has successfully obtained an interlocutory injunction to halt the ongoing re-collation of parliamentary election results for the Nsawam-Adoagyiri constituency.
The re-collation exercise, which began on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at the Tesano Police Depot, was necessitated by discrepancies in the figures on the pink sheets.
The discrepancies prompted the Electoral Commission (EC) to initiate the process to resolve the issues.
Initially set to continue on Friday, December 13, the exercise was interrupted when the returning officer for the EC announced the injunction.
Addressing the media shortly after the announcement, Mr Edudzi Tamakloe, a member of the NDC’s legal team, confirmed the court’s involvement.
“We have served the Electoral Commission with an application of interlocutory injunction to prevent the Electoral Commission from proceeding with the re-collation exercise,” he stated.
The court has scheduled a hearing for the interlocutory injunction on December 20, 2024.
