The governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) has reiterated its commitment to arrest and prosecute former government appointees implicated in corruption-related offences.

This comes in response to calls from the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) for Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine, to refrain from public commentary and take legal action if he has sufficient evidence.

 Deputy Director of Operations at the Presidency and Deputy General Secretary of the party, Mustapha Foyo Gbande, assured that the Mahama-led administration will uphold accountability and ensure justice is served.

"Within the framework of the law, individuals involved in corruption must be arrested, properly investigated, and prosecuted.

Ghanaians have demanded accountability, and it is the duty of the government to ensure that those suspected of wrongdoing face justice," he stated.

He also defended the Attorney-General’s public disclosures, emphasizing that transparency does not interfere with due process.

"Some opposition figures refuse to take responsibility and do not understand their roles. Just because Akufo-Addo is no longer President, they feel the need to make noise about everything. But let me be clear: if Richard Ahiagbah or anyone else is found culpable of criminal activities in the future, no amount of press conferences will shield them from lawful investigations," Gbande asserted.
