The Deputy Appointment Committee Chair, Kweku George Ricketts-Hagan, MP for Cape Coast South, is better at chairing the ongoing ministerial vetting process than his boss Chairman Bernard Ahiafor, MP for Akatsi South, according to IMANI Ghana Founding President & CEO Franklin Cudjoe.

Mr Ricketts-Hagan chaired the process when it resumed on Monday, February 24, and Tuesday, February 25. Today, Chairman Ahiafor resumed his post, a development Mr Cudjoe disapproved of calling Mr Ahiafor "uninspiring, unprepared, boring and capriciously jaundiced, and political".

Also, he commended Co-Chair and Effutu MP Alexander Afenyo-Markin for his unconventional style of questioning which, in his view, enlivens the process. Mr Cudjoe made it clear, Mr Ricketts-Hagan and Mr Afenyo-Markin were a superior duo to umpire the process.

"We enjoyed two days of cordial respectful, educative and entertaining vetting with Ricketts-Hagan and Afenyo, only to be inflicted with the uinspiring, unprepared, boring and capriciously jaundiced and political chairman- what chairman? Hon. Kweku George Ricketts-Hagan should have been Chairman of the Appointments Committee from day 1! He understands the issues, participates in clarifying questions especially from Afenyo-Markin, and responses from nominees. He knows who to point to at critical moments to ask questions," Mr Cudjoe asserted.

"Be honest, guys. But for Afenyo-Markin, this whole vetting would have been boring and we never would have known so much about the nominees. You don't spoil it by bringing back the most rigid, unprepared and severely uninspiring chairman. Sad," he added, appealing: "Bring back Ricketts-Hagan."
