Mahama pummels Jubilee House appointees peddling falshoods for political gains
Former President John Dramani Mahama has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of resorting to falsehoods and propaganda to tarnish his reputation in their quest for political power.
Speaking on the campaign trail, the 2024 Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) pointed to the NPP’s unsubstantiated accusations against him during the 2016 elections as a deliberate strategy to sway voters.
According to Mr. Mahama, despite holding power for nearly eight years, the NPP has failed to prosecute him over any of the allegations they made.
He asserted that the baseless accusations were nothing more than political tools used to discredit him and the NDC.
“After all the lies and propaganda they peddled against me to win power in 2016, where are the prosecutions?
It’s been eight years, and they have nothing to show for it,” he said.
Mr. Mahama warned Ghanaians to be vigilant and discerning as the country approaches the December 7, 2024, general elections.
He urged voters not to fall prey to similar tactics by the ruling party, which he claims is once again spreading falsehoods to retain power.
“The NPP is peddling another round of lies to hold onto power, but this time, Ghanaians must reject their deceitful approach,” Mahama stated.
Reflecting on past elections, the former President noted that such propaganda damages Ghana’s political discourse and undermines public trust.
He called on citizens to focus on the policies and track records of candidates, rather than being swayed by unverified claims and smear campaigns.
