Mahama is a natural-born warrior – Bole MP
The Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi Constituency in the Savannah Region, Alhaji Sulemana Yussif, has reminded Ghanaians that former President John Dramani Mahama is a descendant of warriors and would not tolerate being wronged.
He emphasised that Mr. Mahama is a peaceful man and would not instigate conflict, and would also not allow himself to be attacked or cheated.
Speaking to National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters in Damongo after the "Enough Is Enough" demonstration on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, Mr Yussif drew parallels between Mr. Mahama and his grandfather, Ndewura Jakpa, a renowned warrior of the Gonja people.
He noted that just like his grandfather, who only defended his people when provoked, Mr. Mahama would stand his ground and defend his rights.
Mr Yussif further stated that Mr. Mahama’s legacy as a leader is one of strength and resilience, and he urged supporters to continue to rally behind him as the NDC pushes for electoral transparency and fairness.
"Many are those who have said that John Mahama is a peaceful person.
"So they want to ride over him but let it be known that John Mahama is a born and natural warrior, his great-grandfather was a warrior but a peaceful person."
"He never attacked any community unless you invited him. John Mahama will not be violent and will not attack anybody, but if you dare invite John Mahama in this 2024 election, you will see that he is indeed a born warrior," he said.
The demonstration, organised by the NDC, aimed to push for a forensic audit of the voters' register ahead of the 2024 elections.
Following the protest, the party presented a petition to the Savannah Regional office of the Electoral Commission, demanding an action.
