MP Benjamin Narteh Ayiku donates food items to Muslim community in Ledzokuku

Benjamin Narteh Ayiku, MP for Ledzokuku constituency, has donated food items worth thousands of cedis to the Muslim community in his constituency.
The gesture was part of his corporate social responsibility, supporting the community during the holy month of Ramadan.
Ramadan, the 9 month on the Islamic calendar, is a period of spiritual reflection, compassion, and community for Muslims worldwide. During this time, Muslims observe fasting, known as ‘sawm’ or "siyam," from dawn to sunset, abstaining from food and drink.
Some of the food items MP Ayiku distributed included 100 bags of rice, 50 bags of sugar, and 55 cartons of milk.
In an interview, he emphasised the importance of supporting the Muslim community during this period.
“During Ramadan, Muslims often have to refrain from their normal work, which can affect their livelihood. As their representative, I feel it's necessary to support them with food items to help them during this period,” he explained.
He expressed hope his kind donation would motivate the Muslim community to pray for the country's well-being.
Additionally, he urged Muslim youth to promote peace and coexist harmoniously with other religious groups.
This donation is not the first time MP Ayiku has demonstrated his commitment to the welfare of his constituents.
He has been recognised for his efforts in improving healthcare, education, infrastructure, agriculture, and security in the Ledzokuku constituency.
A representative of the Muslim community, Shiekh Hajj Amartei Ibrahim, Teshie Municipal Chief Imam, thanked the MP for his kind gesture, describing it as a relief that would greatly support them throughout their fasting journey.
