Klottey Korle: Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings files nomination, promises to safeguard seat for NDC
Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for the Klottey Korle Constituency has filed her nomination at the Ridge District Office of the Electoral Commission (EC).
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate (PC) did so yesterday, Thursday, September 12, 2024, in the company of Klottey Korle Constituency Chairman Benjamin Neequaye Kotey; Secretary Eugene Eshun-Elliot; and Organiser Hendrick Noble Kinnah.
There were other aides from her office as well.
The District Presiding Officer of the EC perused the documents and finally accepted them. He urged Dr Agyeman-Rawlings to do all she could to ensure the campaign and eventual voting activities were conducted peacefully.
Constituency Secretary Eugene Eshun-Elliot told the press they were ready for the elections on Saturday, December 7, 2024.
"We are not leaving any stone unturned in our quest to extend the NDC’s electoral lead and hold in the constituency," he said.
"We are poised to make Klottey Korle a safe NDC seat for the party, and Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings is the best person to make that possible. She has over the last eight (8) years proven to be the leader the constituency needs. This has been through dedicated and proactive leadership to the good people of Klottey Korle," he rallied.
Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings (daughter of the founder of the NDC, the late H.E. Dr. Flt. Lt. Rtd. Jerry John Rawlings) took over the reins of the Klottey Korle Constituency in 2017, after defeating MP and Minister of Employment Nii Armah Ashietey in a very highly contested primaries in 2016.
For this year’s December 7 election, Dr Agyeman-Rawlings will be contending with a younger personality in the person of Valentino Nii Noi Nortey, who was an Independent Candidate in 2016 but is now contesting on the ticket of the NPP.
