John Mahama pushes for removal of politically affiliated polling officials to safeguard electoral integrity
National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential Candidate John Dramani Mahama has called for the removal of individuals identified as politically affiliated from polling station roles within the Electoral Commission, expressing concerns that their presence could disrupt the December 7 elections and compromise the electoral process's integrity.
Speaking to residents of Sekondi during his campaign tour of the Western Region, Mr Mahama responded to an alleged audio recording involving individuals plotting to influence election outcomes in Gomoa, highlighting this as evidence of the potential risks posed by partisan influences in election administration.
He urged the Electoral Commission to act swiftly by replacing any politically aligned individuals assigned to manage critical positions during the polls.
In a related address, Mr Mahama reassured newly recruited security personnel that their jobs would be secure under his administration, refuting claims circulated by his opponents that he would reverse their appointments if elected.
He encouraged the recruits to support his “Reset Agenda,” emphasizing that his policies would enhance their professional lives and improve overall conditions for security officers.
