President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has confidently defended his administration’s record, highlighting notable achievements across various sectors despite challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

He also made a strong appeal to Ghanaians to support Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the 2024 elections to continue the work of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Speaking at the 13th Biennial and 51st Conference of the Methodist Church of Ghana in Kumasi, President Akufo-Addo asserted that he has fulfilled the mandate entrusted to him by the people of Ghana over two terms.

“I can say in all good conscience that I have not betrayed the mandate the good people of Ghana conferred on me on two successive occasions,” he affirmed.

The President also credited the church's backing and divine providence for his administration's successes.

“All this has been done in part due to the support I have received from you and the Church and above all due to the grace of Almighty God through whom I express my deepest gratitude,” he stated.

Looking ahead to the next election, Akufo-Addo urged continued support for his likely successor, Vice-President Bawumia, and his running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh.

“I pray that you continue with the same level of cooperation with my successor, God willing, my Vice-President, Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, and his dynamic running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known to all and sundry here in Kumasi as NAPO,” he added.
