The Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah, has criticized President John Mahama for implying that the previous government's handling of Ghana's economy was a crime scene and accusing the administration of "criminally mismanaging" the country's economy.

He criticized the President's "baseless allegations" and charged that he made the statement on purpose to defend the way his administration persecutes its opponents.

President Mahama was reminded by Richard Ahiagbah of the previous administration's efforts to promote and maintain numerous programmes in order to counteract his disparaging assessment of the government's economy.

The Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration did not "criminally mismanage" the economy, despite President Mahama's mostly unfounded accusations; rather, it put forth great effort to create a more robust and powerful country," Richard Ahiagbah disclosed this during the Good Morning Ghana programme on Accra-based Metro TV.

If the economy was a "crime scene," how did the NPP get Free SHS implemented so that millions of Ghanaian children could receive an education? In order to give the future generation 21st-century capabilities, how did we set up STEM schools and make educational infrastructure investments?

In addition, the NPP government reinstated the teacher trainee and nursing allowances that President Mahama's administration had terminated, guaranteeing that students in these vital disciplines would have the assistance they required to finish their education," he added.

"Under the NPP, the economy remained robust enough to continue significant national development programs and pay public sector employees on time, despite global concerns.

These are the characteristics of a government that places a high priority on development, innovation, and the welfare of its citizens rather than the signs of a poorly run economy.

The real advancements Ghanaians made under the NPP cannot be undone by President Mahama's attempt to change history
