Dec polls: Reject NPP over corruption scandals – Ayariga to voters
The Member of Parliament for Bawku Central Constituency, Mahama Ayariga, has passionately urged voters to reject the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in the upcoming elections.
Speaking at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Campaign Tour in the Upper East Region, Ayariga cited pervasive corruption scandals and economic mismanagement under the current administration as key reasons for his call.
The legislator noted that one of the NPP's primary justifications for selecting Dr. Bawumia as a running mate in 2016 was his purported expertise in economics.
However, Ayariga criticized Dr. Bawumia's performance, pointing to the skyrocketing cedi-to-dollar exchange rate and the overall collapse of the economy under his tenure.
"Here we are today, the cedi to the US Dollar rate is skyrocketing, and the economy has collapsed under his watch. So, what again, will the Chief Liar do," Ayariga stated.
He further accused the NPP of not only failing to deliver on their economic promises but also being embroiled in numerous corruption scandals.
He argued that these issues have exacerbated the suffering of the Ghanaian populace, particularly the youth.
"A vote for them is a continued suffering to Ghanaian youth," he warned, urging voters to consider the broader impact of their electoral choices.
