Dec. 7 polls: Bawumia to file nomination Sept. 9, invites public to join ‘historic moment’
The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is set to officially file his nomination on Monday, 9 September 2024, at the headquarters of the Electoral Commission (EC) in Accra.
This filing marks a pivotal step in the NPP's preparations for the upcoming elections.
Dr. Bawumia will be accompanied by his running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, along with other key figures from the party, including the Party’s National Chairman, General Secretary, Majority Leader in Parliament, and several senior party leaders.
Following the filing, Dr. Bawumia is expected to address party supporters and the public at the NPP headquarters later in the morning.
A statement issued on Sunday, 8 September 2024, signed by Justin Kodua Frimpong, the NPP’s General Secretary, emphasised the significance of the event.
“Members of the Party and the general public are invited to be part of this historic moment of POSSIBILITY in Ghana’s Next Chapter,” the statement noted.
