Chief berates Bawumia for falling from economic 'Messi' to 'ball boy'
In a series of community engagements in the Eastern Region, traditional leaders have voiced their dissatisfaction with the ruling government, urging citizens to vote for change in the upcoming December 7 elections.
The Chief of Asuom, Mrewasahene and Krontihene Nana Boadi Amponim Obodade III, criticized Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for his handling of the economy, remarking that Bawumia has fallen from his status as the “Messi” of Ghana’s economy to a mere “ball boy.”
Nana Obodade noted that, given the current economic challenges, Bawumia’s ability to fulfil his promises are questionable.
Nana Obodade echoed these sentiments, stating that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, once viewed as a beacon of hope, is no longer seen as a game- changer in the country’s economic situation.
The comments were made during a gathering with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, in Kade.
Similarly, Nana Owusu Twum Barima Tiabofre II, Chief of Aprade in the Achiase constituency, expressed frustration over the government’s failure to complete road projects in his area, a project he said was initiated by former President Mahama.
He urged his people to vote for change, drawing a parallel with the recent U.S. election and suggesting that a similar shift could happen in Ghana.
John Dramani Mahama on his part called on the people of the Eastern Region to support his bid, arguing that the incumbent government has mismanaged the country and does not deserve another term in office.
Mahama emphasized his commitment to addressing the needs of the region if elected, promising a leadership focused on progress and accountability.
