Bagbin adjourns Parliament indefinitely again over lack of prepared agenda
Parliamentary proceedings were adjourned indefinitely by Speaker Alban Bagbin after the Business Committee failed to meet and set an agenda for lawmakers to deliberate on.
The recall session, requested by the Majority caucus, was anticipated to address critical national issues, but the absence of the Majority members in the Chamber led to a stall in proceedings.
Expressing disappointment, Speaker Bagbin noted that without committee recommendations and a formal agenda, Parliament could not proceed.
He emphasized the necessity for collaborative efforts between the Majority and Minority caucuses to ensure a smooth and functional legislative process, particularly in tackling pressing national concerns.
The adjournment reflects ongoing tensions between the two caucuses, which have disrupted parliamentary activities in recent weeks.
With the session adjourned indefinitely, there is now uncertainty about when Parliament will reconvene to address the pending issues, leaving the Legislative agenda for this session unresolved.
