Ambulance trial: Provide the original Dame tape-NDC to NPP
The main opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has challenged the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to produce the original tape allegedly showing Attorney-General and Minister of Justice Godfred Yeboah Dame coaching Richard Jakpa, the third accused in the ambulance trial, to incriminate Minority Leader Dr. Casiel Ato Forson.
The NDC's demand follows claims by the NPP that the tape released by the NDC, purportedly exposing the Attorney-General's involvement in witness tampering, is doctored.
Mr. Wonder Victor Kutor, a lawyer and member of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the NDC, issued this challenge during an interview with Otafrigya Kaayire Kwesi Appea-Apreku, host of the Ghana Yensom morning show on Accra 100.5 FM, on Wednesday, May 29, 2024.
Mr Kutor called on the NPP to disprove the NDC’s evidence by presenting the original tape of the conversation between Mr. Dame and Mr. Jakpa.
He urged the NPP to publish the original tape to settle the matter definitively.
"If the NPP claims our tape is doctored, they should bring out the original tape," Mr Kutor stated. "Until they do, they have nothing to say hence the need for them to rave ranting on the matter.
