Agona West MP Cynthia Mamle Morrison denies reports of rescinding independent candidacy
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Agona West, Cynthia Mamle Morrison, has categorically denied claims that she has rescinded her decision to contest as an independent candidate in the upcoming elections.
Recent reports have suggested that the MP altered her stance regarding her candidacy.
Reacting to this, the office of the MP in a statement noted: “These reports are false and do not reflect the Hon. MP’s current position or intentions.”
According to the statement, Ms. Morrison remains steadfast in her commitment to serve her constituents.
“The Hon. MP's dedication to improving the lives of the people of Agona West and advocating for the constituency’s development continues to be the foremost priority,” the statement emphasised.
The office urged the media and the public to disregard the “baseless claims” circulating and to rely on official statements for accurate information.
“Any claims suggesting otherwise are attempts to distort the facts and misinform the public,” the statement indicated.
The statement revealed that as the election season approaches, Ms. Morrison is focused on championing the needs and aspirations of the Agona West community, it therefore encouraged “supporters and constituents to remain vigilant and not fall prey to propaganda or false news aimed at misleading the electorate,” the statement added.
