The Bono Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, also known as Abronye, has called on party supporters to retaliate if they are attacked by members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

In a video that has gone viral on social media, Mr Abronye urged NPP supporters not to waste time reporting such violent incidents to the police but instead to respond in kind.

"When you are attacked by the NDC, don’t waste time by going to the police to lodge a complaint," he stated, emphasizing that retaliation should be in "equal measure."

He further detailed his strategy for the Bono Region, stating that if an NPP member is attacked in Sampa, he would respond by targeting an innocent NDC member in Sunyani.

Speaking on Wontumi FM/Movement TV, a station owned by the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako, Mr Abronye made it clear that going into the 2024 general elections, the strategy from the NPP leadership in the Bono Region would be "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth."

"If you fire a gun, I will fire a gun," he asserted, vowing not to tolerate what he described as "NDC's lawlessness and intimidation" in the Bono Region.

"You cannot do such nonsense in my region," he added.
