#2024Polls: CMG CEO's name missing on voter roll
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Class Media Group (CMG), operators of Class FM, Accra FM, Kumasi FM, and other outlets nationwide, faced a major setback at the Community 8 Number 3 polling station in Tema, Greater Accra Region, after discovering that his name was missing from the voter roll.
Mr. Kwesi Kyei Darkwah spent over an hour and a half searching through all five polling centres in the area but could not locate his name on any register.
“I have been advised at this point that my name has been taken off the voter’s register,” he said in frustration during an interview with Accra-based CTV.
Expressing his disappointment with the electoral process, Mr. Darkwah described the experience as disheartening.
“I am disappointed with this sham called voting,” he stated, adding to concerns raised about potential issues with the voter register in the ongoing election.
The incident has sparked conversations about the transparency and efficiency of the voter registration process, particularly as Ghana heads into a crucial general election.
