The National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Stephen Ntim, has called on party members and sympathizers to remain steadfast and focused following the party’s defeat in the 2024 general elections.

Speaking at a press conference held at the NPP Headquarters in Asylum Down on Monday, December 23, 2024, Mr. Ntim described the moment as challenging but reaffirmed the party’s determination to rebound stronger.

“Indeed, this is a difficult time for us as a party, but we are a resilient people.

We must, and we will rise again from this defeat.

We are reorganizing ourselves for the battles of tomorrow,” Mr. Ntim said.

The National Chairman encouraged the party faithful not to lose hope, urging them to actively participate in the restructuring process.

“Fellow Party Members, this means we cannot give up. We must engage in the restructuring process with all the energy we can muster to get the elephant trumpeting again. Kukrudu!!! Kukrudu!!! Kukruuuuduuu!!!” he exclaimed.

Mr. Ntim lauded the dedication of the NPP leadership, campaign teams, and grassroots members, noting their relentless work in the lead-up to the elections.

“Our aim was to secure an emphatic victory, and we worked very hard at it,” he stated.

“As a party, we put in our best efforts during the campaign.”

He extended gratitude to campaign teams from the polling station level to the national level, as well as to all party members and sympathizers for their commitment and hard work.

While acknowledging the disappointment of the electoral results, Mr. Ntim reassured members that the party remains committed to its vision of a better Ghana.

“There is no doubt that the outcome of the elections was not what we hoped for.

We may not have won the battle, but we haven’t lost the war on our quest for a better Ghana, shaped by the ideals and philosophies of the NPP,” he affirmed.

He acknowledged the pain felt by members and supporters, expressing solidarity with their frustrations.

Calling for unity, Mr. Ntim emphasized the importance of learning from the defeat and using it as a stepping stone to rebuild and refocus.

“We must not let this defeat discourage us. Instead, it should galvanize us to work harder, correct our mistakes, and ensure that the NPP regains its footing as the party of choice for Ghanaians,” he concluded.
