2024 manifesto: NDC to transform controversial National Cathedral into a hospital
Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, the Director of Elections and IT for the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has proposed a potential location for the 500-bed state-of-the-art Children's Hospital and Fertility Centre promised by former President John Dramani Mahama in his 2024 election manifesto.
In a Facebook post dated August 24, 2024, Dr. Boamah suggested that the National Cathedral project in Accra could be transformed into the proposed hospital.
Dr. Boamah's suggestion comes as part of ongoing discussions on how to best utilize existing resources to meet the needs of Ghanaians.
However, Mr Mahama during his Saturday manifesto delivery failed to mention where the hospital would be built but Dr Boamah who plays an integral role in the Mahama campaign is giving clues on social media
He highlighted that repurposing the National Cathedral, which has been a subject of controversy, could serve the greater public good by providing critical healthcare services in the Greater Accra Region.
This proposal aligns with Mahama's commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure as part of his broader vision for the country.
