Private legal practitioner sues AG and Ghana Police over appointment of dept. IGP
Private legal practitioner Justice Abdulai has filed a lawsuit against the Attorney General and the Ghana Police Service (GPS), challenging the recent appointment of a Deputy Inspector General of Police (IGP).
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo appointed Christian Tetteh Yohuno as the Deputy IGP in charge of operations.
However, in a writ dated Tuesday, 30 July 2024, Mr. Abdulai contends that the appointment of Yohuno is “unconstitutional, null and void.”
Mr. Abdulai is also seeking an “order restraining COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno from acting or purporting to act as Deputy Inspector-General of Police in Charge of Operations.”
