The Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo Markin, has announced a new schedule for Parliament.
This follows the Minority’s planned boycott of parliamentary sittings on days their leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, attends court.
The House will now convene after 3 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Dr. Ato Forson is currently on trial for his alleged role in a failed ambulance deal during his tenure as Deputy Finance Minister.
The Minority's decision to boycott sessions on his court dates prompted this significant shift in the parliamentary timetable.
Majority Leader Afenyo Markin assured that this new arrangement would accommodate all members’ needs.
“Mr. Speaker, there is an arrangement that on Tuesdays and Thursdays we sit after 3 pm. As a result of that, questions will receive written answers, which answers will be published for members, so that arrangement is in place," he stated.
He added: "So no member will lose an opportunity to have answers to questions because of the late sitting."
