Mahama donates GH¢50,000 to Buzstopboys
Former President and National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama has donated GH¢50,000 to the Buzstopboys to aid in their Clean Ghana campaign.
This contribution is expected to help the group purchase tools and equipment for their sanitation efforts.
During the donation event in his office, Mr Mahama stressed on the importance of voluntarism in maintaining urban cleanliness.
He noted the challenges posed by urban anonymity and the increasing waste in cities, contrasting it with the communal hygiene standards of rural areas. Recalling his childhood routine of early morning cleaning, Mr Mahama praised the Buzstopboys for their dedication to improving sanitation.
He also highlighted the significant problem of plastic pollution, especially from food packaging. Mr Mahama urged the public to support groups like the Buzstopboys.
He said his support was non-partisan. "I’m doing this not because I want you to vote for me. I just want to encourage you,” he stated.
