H.E. Roey Gilad: New Israeli Amb. to Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone arrives in Accra to start duty
A new Israeli ambassador has arrived in Ghana to start his tour of duty.
The announcement was contained in a statement dated September 5, 2024, and signed by the Embassy of Israel to Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
H.E. Roey Gilad replaces H.E. Shlomit Sufa, who ended her tour of duty in Ghana in July 2024, as the new Israeli Ambassador to Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
With bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Middle Eastern Studies, and with over 30 years of diplomatic experience, the statement said Ambassador Gilad had represented the State of Israel in countries such as Kenya, Jordan, UK, USA, and Turkiye (Turkey).
It had he was “an avid marathon runner who has completed 12 marathons all over the world,” married to “Nitza Gilad and they have a daughter, Avigail Gilad”.
“I am looking forward to represent the State of Israel in Ghana which is known to have a stable and strong bilateral relations with Israel. In am coming to Ghana at a time when Israel is facing unprecedented challenges. As part of my role, I would like to brief the leadership and people of Ghana of about these challenges,” H.E. Roey Gilad remarked.
