Ato Forson, JJ, Ayini to be vetted on Monday

Parliament is set to commence the vetting of President John Dramani Mahama’s initial ministerial appointees on Monday, January 13, 2025.
The nominees, designated to lead key ministries, include Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, John Jinapor(JJ) and Dominic Ayini.
The Public Affairs Directorate of Parliament, in a memo to the Parliamentary Press Corps signed by Mr David Sabastian Damoah , the Director of Media Relations announced the date and urged the media to provide comprehensive coverage of the exercise.
This follows President Mahama’s unveiling of his first set of ministerial appointments, which were submitted to the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, for approval in line with Article 78 of the 1992 Constitution.
The nominees and their respective designations are as follows:
Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson — Minister for Finance Designate John Abdulai Jinapor (JJ) — Minister for Energy Designate Dominic Akuritinga Ayini — Attorney-General and Minister for Justice DesignateThese appointments represent the initial steps in assembling the President’s team to execute his administration’s policies and developmental agenda.
Parliament’s vetting process will involve a thorough examination of the nominees to assess their qualifications, expertise, and suitability for the roles.
Their confirmation is contingent on meeting the necessary requirements and receiving parliamentary approval.
