Filth swallows Cantonments Police station
Just two and a half months ago, a container was placed in the Ghana Police barracks under the police headquarters to serve as a waste disposal point for the residents.
This container was intended to facilitate rubbish collection within the barracks, located in the plush Cantonments, Accra.
Unfortunately, the container has broken down, necessitating the timely intervention of a Zoomlion vehicle to collect the accumulating rubbish.
However, the Zoomlion operators have also ceased their services due to financial constraints and the breakdown of their vehicles.
As a result, the rubbish has spread across the ground within the barracks, and no immediate clean-up has been initiated by any of the commanding officers.
The police headquarters, situated very close to the barracks, sees the daily passage of both senior and junior officers, who are aware of the situation yet have taken no action.
