East Legon accident: Salifu Amoako and wife arrested
The Ghana Police Service has arrested Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako and Mouha Amoako, the parents of a 16-year-old suspect, Elrad Salifu Amoako, who was involved in a fatal car accident that claimed two lives in East Legon on Saturday, 12 October 2024.
The couple is currently in police custody, assisting with investigations.
According to a police statement released today, Tuesday, 15 October 2024, preliminary investigations reveal that Elrad, driving a Jaguar SUV with one passenger, collided with a 4x4 Acura vehicle at Mensah Wood Street, East Legon.
The Acura, driven by Joseph Ackah, had five occupants at the time of the crash.
The violent impact caused both vehicles to catch fire, burning beyond recognition.
While three passengers in the Acura were rescued, two of the occupants, 12-year-olds Justine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh, tragically lost their lives in the blaze.
