CSquared group CEO meets with GRIDCo Chief Executive to strengthen partnership
The leadership of CSquared, a renowned connectivity provider, recently paid a visit to the Tema office of the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) to reaffirm and reinforce their partnership, which was initially forged in 2019.
The meeting served as a platform for discussions centered on the existing collaboration of the two outfits and the exploration of potential avenues for further cooperation.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CSquared, shared his vision of extending internet access to every village and hinterland in Ghana. He underscored the pivotal role that internet connectivity played during the COVID-19 pandemic and elaborated on CSquared's strategic investments within the sub-region.
A key highlight of the discussion was CSquared's aspiration to interconnect the entire African continent, a move intended to significantly reduce internet data costs for users. Mr. Kolade expressed optimism that expanded capacity could potentially drive data costs down to as low as USD2 per megabyte.
To realise these objectives, CSquared has committed substantial resources, including a noteworthy investment of USD500,000 in equipment. This investment is geared towards fostering new partnerships and collaborations, with a specific focus on enhancing connectivity between Ghana and Togo.
GRIDCo's Chief Executive, Ing. Ebenezer Essienyi, commended CSquared for the quality of service they have provided in their ongoing partnership. He expressed GRIDCo's openness to considering the innovative proposals discussed during the meeting, signaling a potential avenue for further collaboration and the advancement of connectivity infrastructure in the region.
Accompanying Mr. Kolade in this significant meeting was the West Africa Regional Manager of CSquared, Estelle Akofio-Sowah.
The GRIDCo team present at the meeting, included, Director of Legal Services, Monica Senanu; Director of Finance, Samuel Nkansah; Acting Director of the Office of the CEO, Samuel Kow Acquah; Manager of Grid Consult, Pius Avio and Manager of the Executive Office, Wofa Kwarteng.
