Another fatal stabbing incident sparks fear in Ashaiman
In a harrowing incident early on Thursday morning, an unidentified man was fatally stabbed by suspected armed robbers in Ashaiman, Greater Accra Region.
Discovered near the Goodness filling station at the Ashaiman main Trotro station, the victim was found lifeless with stab wounds and blood-soaked clothes.
The distressing event unfolded at approximately 4:30 am when criminal gangs approached the victim, who was reportedly holding a bag containing money and a phone.
Eyewitnesses, including Yaw Kwakye, a trader at the Ashaiman Main Trotro Station, recounted that the criminals demanded the bag and other personal effects.
However, the victim valiantly resisted, leading to a struggle during which he was allegedly stabbed in the stomach.
The aftermath of the incident has generated panic among residents, exacerbated by rumours suggesting that the victim may have been a military personnel.
This fear is rooted in a prior occurrence in the municipality when, on March 7, 2023, soldiers invaded Ashaiman following the killing of Private Imoro Sherrif in Ashaiman Zongo Laka on Saturday, March 4, 2023.
Despite attempts to obtain information, the Police in Ashaiman have declined to comment on the incident.
Investigations are ongoing to shed light on the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
