Accra: Police arrest man for allegedly vandalising monument, signposts at Airport roundabout
The Ghana Police Service has arrested a man suspected of causing damage to a monument and several signposts at the Airport Roundabout in Accra.
The suspect, Newwel Gavu, was taken into custody following his apprehension by security personnel and alert citizens.
The suspect is currently being held and will face legal proceedings in accordance with the law, the police confirmed in a statement issued on Saturday, 31 August 2024.
The statement also praised the swift actions of the public and airport security:
“We would like to commend members of the public and the Airport security for their vigilance which led to the arrest of the suspect,” the statement added.
