Agricultural college graduates issue a two-week ultimatum to gov’t over delayed postings
Around eleven thousand graduates from Agricultural Colleges across the country have given the government a two-week ultimatum to address the delays in their postings.
According to the graduates, students from the 2019 to 2024 academic years have not yet been posted to their respective roles, despite repeated promises from the government.
Mr Stephen Kwakye, the spokesperson for the graduate students, expressed their frustration during an interview on Accra 100.5 FM’s mid-day news on Thursday, August 8, 2024.
He criticized the government for consistently failing to fulfil its promises to post agricultural college graduates.
Mr Kwakye warned that the graduates would not accept the usual excuse of "no clearance" as a reason for further delays once they take to the streets in protest.
He urged the government to immediately open the portal for the posting of agricultural graduates and to secure the necessary financial clearance to facilitate their deployment.
"The government has failed the agricultural college students," Mr Kwakye stated, emphasizing the need for swift action to resolve the issue and ensure that the graduates can begin their professional careers.
