A/R: Ejisu Senior High Tech appeals for gov’t assistance to ease student congestion
The Headmistress of the Ejisu Senior High Technical School in the Ashanti region, Madam Grace Asamani, has appealed to government for assistance in addressing the overcrowding issues plaguing the school's dormitory facilities.
Madam Asamani highlighted the pressing need for additional dormitory blocks to accommodate the surplus of students currently straining the existing infrastructure.
She emphasised that the congestion within the dormitories has reached critical levels, necessitating immediate intervention to alleviate the situation.
The school is grappling with the aftermath of a recent natural disaster, exacerbating the accommodation crisis.
A heavy downpour in the area resulted in severe damage to the boys' dormitory block, leaving approximately 150 students displaced.
Efforts are underway by the Municipal Assembly and the Member of Parliament for the area to address the roofing damage sustained during the incident.
In the absence of adequate dormitory space, affected students have been compelled to seek refuge in classrooms, further underscoring the severity of the accommodation shortfall.
