C/R: GWCL reports production increase in potable water
The management of Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) in the Central Region has provided an update for customers within Cape Coast, Elmina and surrounding communities of the current water supply situation in said communities.
“The Sekyere Hemang Water Treatment is currently recording an average turbidity of 9,000 NTU as compared to the previous average turbidity of 14,000 NTU,” a GWCL statement, dated October 2, 2024, said.
The progress, the statement continued, was achieved “through the effort of the Central Regional Security Council led by the Hon. Minister Mrs Justina Marigold Assan”.
“As a result of this event, production at the plant has now increased from (1,981,290 gallons per day) to (2,773,807 gallons per day),” the statement indicated.
The GWCL cautioned customers “to use drinking water wisely”.
