'Start small' – Okyeame Kwame reveals how Akyeame convinced a 'destiny helper' to invest in them
“This week, my message is really simple – start small! Don’t be afraid to start small,” Okyeame Kwame has encouraged his followers on social media.
He buttressed his point with an illustration from his private and professional life, remembering that the legendary Hiplife group he was once part of called “Akyeame – when we were looking for an executive producer – this was around 1994/1995 – I’d take my national service allowance, and then [Okyeame] Quophi who was selling at Sagoe Lane at that time would also bring his allowance then we’d record many, many demos”.
“Now, because we did those demos, in 1995 or is it 1996, we found Mr Andrew Opoku Amankwa to invest money in us. Then a year later, we became Akyeame”.
The moral of the story, Okyeame Kwame emphasised, was “don’t be afraid to start small because your destiny helper, would want to see evidence of how you have helped yourself before they help you”.
“Start small,” he repeated amidst heavy panting, as he was skipping all along.
