Philanthropy: I decide on who to help by prayer, instincts – Nana Aba Anamoah
Star broadcast journalist Nana Aba Anamoah has revealed she is quite spiritual about her acts of kindness and they are not as random as they often appear to be.
Many times, Nana Aba has been in the trends on social media for helping someone on the street with a gig or employment. Even more, she has given many opportunities at making a mark in various fields especially in media.
“Sometimes it’s just direction from a little voice inside me,” she explained the motivation behind her kindness. “And I believe that voice is God.”
“And I’m not bragging but I think that God listens to me a lot, and every time I ask for direction, I get direction,” she explained.
“Sometimes, the people I’ve encountered will appear in my dream and that’s a signal for me that this person is worth it.”
She bemoaned times she had ignored her intuition by way of having a “certain mixed feeling” and experiencing unpleasant consequences.
“It just backfires; the person does something to hurt me and I say to myself, ‘I should have just listened to my instincts that this is a bad move’,” she said.
“There are people I also meet and I just love them. Those people are dear to me, still very close to me and they are people that will never disappoint me.”
Speaking to Nana Romeo on Accra 100.5 FM’s Ayekoo Ayekoo, she noted “it’d be difficult” to account for the number of people her philanthropic work impacts.
In fact, what makes it onto social media from among her kind gestures, she revealed, “are the ones with an entertainment side to them.
“It’s footages of the boys who are fun and make me happy.”
However, she noted, “there some people whose issues are very serious and I don’t like to put that on social media and attract attention, abuse and ridicule to them”.
Self-assessing, she remarked: “For the life that I’ve lived, I think I’ve done quite well – if I say so myself.”
