Ambolley laments there's 'no musician among the Council of State'

Highlife and Jazz virtuoso Gyedu Blay Ambolley has lamented no musician was elected to the Council of State.

He wrote on Facebook, Wednesday, February 20, 2025: "No musician among the Council of State."

The Council of State election took place on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, across the 16 regions of Ghana.

On Tuesday, February 18, President John Mahama swore in the newly appointed and elected members-designate of the Council of State, signalling the start of their roles as a council of elders mandated to offer wisdom and oversight to the presidency.

The 16 regional representatives bring expertise from the fields of education, business, law, and agriculture, among others.
