Samatex attractive than Hearts and Kotoko – Edmund Ackah
The General Manager of Samatex 1996 FC, Edmund Ackah, has asserted that Samatex is now more attractive than both Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.
His statement was made in response to a question posed in an interview on Accra FM's Accra Sports, by the host regarding whether their recent dominance in the Ghana Premier League (GPL) was due to poor performances by Hearts and Kotoko.
Mr. Ackah firmly rejected the notion, attributing Samatex's success to the robust structures they have implemented within the club.
He emphasised that gone are the days when teams would groom players only for Hearts and Kotoko to swoop in with lucrative offers, asserting that this trend does not apply to Samatex in the current landscape of Ghanaian football.
Despite acknowledging the challenge posed by poor road networks that might deter players from joining Samatex, Mr. Ackah expressed confidence in the club's ability to compete with the traditional giants. He boldly stated that Samatex is fully capable of matching Hearts and Kotoko in every aspect, dismissing any notion of inferiority.
The former Accra representative of Asante Kotoko asserted that there is nothing Hearts and Kotoko can do that Samatex cannot match, including matters of player remuneration.
Currently, Samatex leads the GPL with 49 points from 26 games, while Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko occupy the 11th and 12th positions with 35 and 33 points, respectively.
In the upcoming Week 27 fixtures, Samatex is scheduled to face Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, while Hearts of Oak will play Legon Cities away.
