Ghana-Nigeria match: No vaccination card, no entry into stadium

Only football fans who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will be allowed into the various stadia across the country on match days, the Ministry of Youth and Sports has announced.
This includes the match between Ghana and Nigeria scheduled to be played at the Cape Coast Stadium on Friday, 25 March 2022.
According to the Sports Ministry, in order to ensure strict adherence to the COVID-19 protocols put in place by the government, it has directed the “managers of the stadia (National Sports Authority) and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to admit only fans who are fully vaccinated into the stadia at various centres on match days".
The Ministry noted in a statement issued on Tuesday, 1 March 2022: “The COVID-19 task force and the Ghana Health Service will mount vaccination centres at Kumasi, Cape Coast, Takoradi and Tamale stadia, one week before the Ghana-Nigeria derby.”
The statement continued that with the measures put in place, it is expected that “the facilities managers can admit as many fans as the facilities can contain provided that such fans have been fully vaccinated with the requisite vaccination card.”
It added: “The wearing of Face masks, the use of sanitisers, and social distancing will also be strictly enforced.”
