2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers: Black Stars pin down Chad 5:0

Black Stars beat Chad 5-0 Friday night, March 21, 2025, at the Accra (Ohene Gyan) Sports Stadium.
The strong result sees the team, with 12 points, move to the top of Group I, containing other teams like Madagascar, Mali, Comoros, and Central African Republic.
Antoine Semenyo found the net first in the second minute. In the 31st minute, Inaki Williams gave Ghana its second goal.
Not long thereafter, Captain Jordan Ayew scored the third goal via a penalty, putting Ghana in a commanding lead.
Eleven minutes into the second half, Mohammed Salisu pulled a fourth goal out of the bag for the Black Stars.
The fifth and final goal came for Ghana in the 68th minute provided by Ernest Nuamah.
The emphatic win during the FIFA World Cup qualifiers places the Otto Addo-led Ghana Black Stars in fine light, inspiring hope in fans, given the team’s appalling winless campaign for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco this year.
