Start preparing your handing over notes - Mahama to NPP
Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has declared that the time has come for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration to leave power, stating that the nation cannot afford to endure another day under their governance in 2025.
During the NDC manifesto launch in Winneba, Mr Mahama strongly criticised the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government for what he described as mal-administration, mismanagement, and state capture.
He lamented that under their leadership, Ghana has been plunged into a "nightmare," urging citizens to envision a brighter future.
“For the sake of God's children, and in the name of God, the people of Ghana will wake up from this nightmare and envision a bright new dawn of opportunities, for all these people and not just a few,” Mr Mahama stated.
He emphasised that the soul of Ghana is calling for change, describing the nation's current state as a cry for genuine patriotism. "Mother Ghana is crying for its true and genuine patriotic citizens to rise up to reset our beloved Nation. Ghanaians can take no more of the hardship and the impunity," he added.
Mr Mahama urged citizens not to fail Ghana by voting for change on December 7, 2024.
He stressed that the current administration's time is up, accusing them of decimating democracy, destroying livelihoods, and pushing millions into poverty.
"Your vote on December 7th will end the tyranny, it will end the cronyism, it will end the corruption, it will end the hardship," Mr Mahama declared. He promised that, if elected, he would restore trust and integrity to the Flagstaff House.
Mr Mahama also called on the Akufo-Addo administration to begin preparing their handing over notes, stating that their tenure has been the "biggest political scam" pulled on Ghanaians since independence in 1957.
