Bagbin prays: 'God bless Ghana beyond single individual, institution'
The Speaker of Parliament Hon Alban S.K. Bagbin has left a cryptic message on his Facebook.
"God bless our homeland Ghana and make it great and strong, beyond any single individual or institution," he wrote, Monday, October 21, 2024.
It is not known the exact context for the lamentation and prayer by the Speaker.
On October 17, the Speaker declared four seats in parliament vacant after four MPs crossed the floor.
The decision caused the governing NPP side of parliament to lose their majority standing to the main opposition NDC. The NPP protested by walking out and going to the Supreme Court to contest the decision of the Speaker.
On October 18, the apex court ordered the freezing of the implementation of the Speaker’s declaration.
