The leadership of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Savanna Region has presented food items including 20 bags of rice, 2 bags of maize, a bag of cassava, 50 sachets of water, sachets of drinks, a big gallon of cooking oil and cash amount of GHS6,000 to the Sonyowura Adamu Bakari Kanyiti, the Acting Head of State and President of the Gonja Traditional Council, to support the funeral rites of the late Yagbonwura.

The Savanna Regional Chairman of the NPP, Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana, in a speech after the presentation, indicated that the donation was to cater to the sub-chiefs and the people who are in the palace to support the organisation of the funeral rites of the late Yagbonwura.

He said it is a solemn moment for the entire Gonja kingdom including members of the NPP and used the opportunity to convey the party's condolences to the people of Gonjaland.
