The Ghana Police Service has launched a manhunt for the shooter involved in a violent clash on Sunday evening, 27 October 2024, during campaign activities in Agona West.

The altercation, which erupted between supporters of New Patriotic Party (NPP) rivals, left four individuals injured, with two still in hospital receiving treatment.

The incident reportedly occurred as supporters of Chris Arthur, the NPP’s parliamentary candidate, returned from a campaign event in Otinkorang.

En route, they encountered a mini-rally of Cynthia Morrison’s supporters at Agona Nyankrom, resulting in an altercation that escalated into gunfire.

“The police have been actively working on the case throughout Sunday night when the incident happened and are closing in on the perpetrator to get him arrested to face justice,” the statement read, assuring the public of a committed response to maintain peace in the region.
