The National Chairmanship race of the People's National Convention (PNC) is facing uncertainty as Samson Asaki Awingobit, a leading candidate, has accused the party's national executives of failing to manage crucial electoral preparations.

Awingobit has alleged essential funds have not been distributed to regional executives, putting the organisation of the upcoming delegate congress at risk.

In an interview with Elizabeth Aidoo of Class News, Awingobit stated: "Despite contestants, including myself, contributing significant sums – ranging from GHS25,000 to GHS100,000 – regional executives have yet to receive the necessary financial support. This delay threatens to undermine the entire election process.”

He further emphasised: "It is imperative that these funds be disbursed immediately to facilitate delegate participation and cover vital logistical costs, including the printing of ballots and payments to the Electoral Commission. "

He asserted: "We cannot afford any further delays."
