Omane Boamah urges Ghanaians to stay vigilant on 'sick' voters register
Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has called on Ghanaians to remain vigilant as the country faces critical issues ahead of the 2024 general elections.
His comments highlight three pressing concerns: the loss of Ghana's AFCON qualifiers match against Sudan, the ongoing fight against illegal mining (galamsey), and the condition of the voters register, which is still being finalized by the Electoral Commission (EC).
Speaking to the public through his Facebook page, Dr. Omane Boamah warned that the voters register, which he described as "sick," remains a major point of concern.
The EC is expected to release the certified register in November, but he urged Ghanaians to continue dialling 71151# to check their details on the provisional register, currently undergoing scrutiny to ensure its fitness for purpose.
"Don't give up on Ghana," he encouraged, adding that there are reasons for hope despite the nation's challenges.
He positioned John Dramani Mahama, the NDC’s Presidential Candidate, as the experienced leader who can guide the country in the right direction.
Dr. Omane Boamah emphasized Mahama’s commitment to fighting corruption and recovering assets looted under the current administration, while also promising well-paying jobs through the "24-hour economy" initiative.
He urged voters to keep faith in Mahama’s vision for a brighter future, saying, "Vote John Dramani Mahama for a better Ghana."
