Napo warns against election violence
Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, running mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has issued a stern warning to those planning to disrupt the upcoming 2024 elections, pledging that any acts of violence will be met with strict legal consequences.
On a campaign tour in the Asunafo South Constituency of the Ahafo Region, Dr. Opoku Prempeh called for calm and urged all citizens to adhere to the rule of law to ensure a peaceful electoral process.
Addressing a gathering of Chiefs, Clergy, and party supporters at a mini rally in Noberkaw, Dr. Opoku Prempeh reiterated the NPP's unwavering commitment to managing Ghana’s resources responsibly while promoting economic growth and protecting the environment.
He stressed that no one, regardless of political affiliation, would be shielded from prosecution if found guilty of violence.
This comes after a recent altercation between members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the NPP in Kwapong, a neighbouring town in the same constituency.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh underscored the NPP’s commitment to a peaceful 2024 election and highlighted the importance of maintaining stability and order. He reassured the public that the NPP would uphold democratic principles and ensure that justice is served.
Frank Aduse Poku, the NPP’s Parliamentary Candidate for Asunafo South, echoed these sentiments, emphasising the party's numerous developmental projects in the region and encouraging voters to support the NPP to continue these initiatives.
