NPP's gov't running on loans, vote for change-Asiedu-Nketia to Ghanaians
The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has called on Ghanaians to vote out the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration to pave the way for progress and development.
Addressing party supporters in Kotei, within the Oforikrom Constituency of the Ashanti Region, Mr. Asiedu Nketia appealed to even NPP loyalists to vote massively for the NDC to restore hope to the country.
He cited his own roots in Wenchi, the hometown of Prof. K.A. Busia, a founding father of the NPP, as evidence that political allegiance should not overshadow the need for progress.
“Being a native of Wenchi, I could have championed the NPP's cause, but I have seen the light, and today, Wenchi is green,” he declared, referencing the NDC’s colours.
He lamented that the current NPP leadership has deviated from the principles of its founding fathers, such as Victor Owusu, R.R. Amponsah, and Okyeame Baffour Akoto, urging supporters of the party to redeem its lost image.
“The democracy we practice is meant to develop our communities.
Let us prioritize development over tradition and vote wisely,” he stated, adding that endorsing the NDC’s Parliamentary Candidate, Anwel Sadat, for just one term would demonstrate the party’s ability to deliver transformative change.
Anwel Sadat, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Oforikrom, also addressed the gathering, pledging to focus on youth empowerment, infrastructure development, and improved healthcare if elected.
Sadat highlighted his plans to expand the local market and construct a modern hospital to address the community's healthcare needs.
He also pointed to his record of providing employment opportunities for some youth in the Constituency as evidence of his commitment to service.
“I am poised for development, and I am here to serve,” Sadat assured.
“Together, we can change the narrative in Oforikrom and make it a beacon of progress.”
The rally served as a rallying call for Oforikrom residents to embrace change and give the NDC a chance to deliver on its promises of growth and development.
