The Ashanti Region, a stronghold of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), is set to host the official unveiling of the running mate for the party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

This announcement was made by the National Organiser of the party, Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, in a Facebook post on Tuesday evening, July 4.

He provided no further details, simply stating, "Ashanti Region to host the official outdooring ceremony of the running mate to the next President, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia."

Dr. Bawumia has selected Energy Minister and MP for Manhyia South Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, as his running mate following extensive consultations within the party.

This nomination awaits confirmation by the National Council tomorrow, with the unveiling ceremony to follow at a later date next week.
