NPP leadership allegedly blocks Adwoa Safo from attending Kessben's TV interview

The host of Kessben TV’s morning show, Kwame Appiah Kubi, popularly known as "Mr Speaker," has alleged that some leaders of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) ambushed former Dome-Kwabenya MP, Sarah Adwoa Safo, at her residence to prevent her from appearing on a scheduled live interview.
Miss Safo was scheduled to appear on the show after the General Secretary of the party issued a statement dragging her to the Disciplinary Committee of the party.
Sarah Adwoa Safo has strongly criticized the General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua, over what she perceives as an attempt to silence her.
In a fiery response following her referral to the party’s Disciplinary Committee, Adwoa Safo questioned why she should be restricted from speaking when the General Secretary himself embarked on a media tour to defend his position after the party’s electoral setbacks.
"Who is the NPP General Secretary to tell us not to speak? When he was doing a media tour from radio stations to TV stations explaining himself after our defeat in order to gain solidarity from party executives to maintain his position, who questioned him?" she fumed.
She insisted that no one could silence her and cautioned the party’s leadership against allowing external influences to manipulate the General Secretary ahead of the party’s upcoming elections.
"Nobody can shut my mouth not to talk. The General Secretary should know very well that he has an election coming and must not be allowed for people to manipulate him," she asserted.
Adwoa Safo’s comments come in the wake of her referral to the party’s Disciplinary Committee following her recent interview on JoyNews, in which she made remarks about her treatment within the NPP
According to Appiah Kubi, the former MP was expected to speak on pressing political issues on Kessben TV this morning but was unable to do so due to interference from certain NPP executives.
Details surrounding the alleged ambush remain unclear, and neither Adwoa Safo nor the NPP leadership has officially responded to the claim. However, the development has sparked discussions about internal party tensions and the treatment of former government officials.
Kessben TV is expected to follow up on the matter as the situation unfolds.
