NPP issues gag order to members following 2024 electoral defeat

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has issued a gag order to its members, instructing them to refrain from discussing the party’s internal matters on public platforms following its defeat in the December 7, 2024, general elections.
In a circular dated March 20, 2025, and signed by the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the NPP acknowledged the disappointment and emotional distress caused by the electoral loss.
The statement noted that while many party members have openly expressed their anger, frustration, and disappointment, it is essential for all faithful to remain calm to ensure unity and stability within the party.
The party further reminded its members that under Article 10 (7) (5) of the NPP Constitution, all party officers are mandated to coordinate the activities and operations of the party.
As such, members are strictly directed to desist from discussing internal issues in the media, particularly those that could create unrest, negativity, or disaffection among supporters.
The directive aims to maintain party discipline and foster internal resolution of grievances as the NPP navigates its post-election future.
